Can my robot clean at night, in the dark?

Yes. Shark® AI Laser Vision is not dependent on ambient lighting and can navigate your home at night or in low lighting conditions.

Can my robot work if I don't connect to the app?

If you don't connect to the app, you will not be able to use important features such as Interactive Home, No-Go Zones, Room Select, and Scheduling.

If you are not connected to the app but still want to block off objects or areas from your robot, you can also purchase BotBoundary® strips here and use them to physically block off those areas.

How do I download and install the app?

How do I enable Recharge & Resume?

Enable Recharge & Resume to handle multi-room cleaning in larger homes. When Recharge & Resume is enabled, your robot returns to the dock, recharges, and can pick up where it left off.
To enable Recharge & Resume, open the app. Go to the menu in the top left corner of the Home screen.

Select Settings.
Select your robot.
Toggle the Recharge & Resume feature to the ON position.

To toggle Recharge & Resume on or off without the app, press and hold the CLEAN button on your robot for 15 seconds.

How do I use my robot with Amazon Alexa?

Open the Amazon Alexa app, go to the menu and select Skills. Or, go to the Alexa Skills store on the Amazon website.
Search for "Shark Skill"
Select the Shark Skill to open the detail page, then select the Enable Skill option.
Once enabled, you can ask Alexa to control your robot (i.e. "Alexa, tell Shark to start cleaning").

How do I use my robot with Google Assistant?

To set up your robot with the Google Assistant on an Apple device:

Download the Google Assistant. Open it, and sign in.
Click the "Explore" icon.
Search for the "Shark" action and select "Try it".
Allow google to link to your SharkClean account.
Sign into your SharkClean account. This is the same account you used when setting up your Shark® robot in the SharkClean™ app.
Click Authorize to link your SharkClean account to the Google Assistant. This allows the Google Assistant to work with your Shark® robot.
Congratulations! Your accounts are now linked. Use the voice command "OK Google, tell Shark to start cleaning" to send your robot into action.

What is an Explore Run, and what will my robot do on this run?

An Explore Run is a mandatory run your robot must complete in order for you to be able to use any app features such as home mapping, using no-go zones, and scheduling.
This is the first run your robot will do in your home when you take it out of the box. To start the Explore Run, turn on your robot, connect to the app, and follow the instructions on the app screen.

During the Explore Run, your robot will meander around your rooms while it creates a map of your home's floor plan. With IQ navigation, your robot does not need to travel over every square inch of your home to create the map that will be displayed in the app.

What is Object Detection and how does it work?

Your robot will avoid objects taller than 2.8 inches. Any object lower than the AI laser vision system (2.8 inches) will not be recognized by your robot. Clear all small objects from your robot's path, or add no-go zones in the app before beginning a cleaning cycle.

What is the expected runtime of the Shark® AI Robot?

Your robot can clean your home for up to 90 minutes at a time. For continuous cleaning, please enable Recharge & Resume so that your robot can cover larger spaces.
